Answer

If your camera is 3 megapixels or more, and you select its best quality, you are probably just fine. We’ll let you know if we see any problem.

If your original is a print, and you scan it yourself, we recommend scanning at a resolution that will give you at least 150 dpi at your final print size. For example, if you are scanning a 4x6" print, and you want 12x18" canvases, scan at 450 dpi (12x18" is 3 times larger than 4x6", and 150 dpi x 3 is 450 dpi.) If this is too much arithmetic, or your scanner won't give the resolution you need, we'll be happy to do the scan for you.
